What is Extra Life?

Started in 2008 by Doc Adams, Extra Life has grown from a small movement benefiting one hospital in Houston, Texas, to an international movement of gamers raising money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals across the United States and Canada.

Here is the story of the girl that started it all.

Extra Life is gamers doing what they do best to help sick and injured children at their chosen Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.

Every year, gamers from across the world come together to do what they love and heal sick kids in their communities. 100% of the money raised by everyone through Extra Life is given to the children’s hospital chosen by the gamer who raised it.

What Are We Doing?

DellChildrensMedCenter

Gaming Day will be supporting specifically Dell Children’s Medical Center. Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas is the only dedicated freestanding pediatric facility in the region. Serving a 46-county area and beyond, Dell Children’s is the premier healthcare provider for children and adolescents.

Last year we raised money for two S3005 Simulation Babies named Georgia and Hal. These sim babies have lifelike features such as breathing, circulation, color change, motion, and sound. Georgia and Hal will allow residents to practice multiple medical procedures without impacting actual patients.

On November 5th, 2016, we are hosting a 24 hour event at The Microsoft Store in the Domain. The event will feature a variety of things to do from music from several DJs to a fully featured live stream that will be broadcasted on Twitch. We will be raffling prizes throughout the day for those who support this important cause.

With our Austin community coming together, a lot of effort and energy is invested in benefiting those in need.

Our event would be part of a huge international celebration of the social impact of gamers with Extra Life and it’s our sincere hope that you’ll find it in your heart to support us with a monthly pledge or one-time gift that will go directly to Dell Children’s Medical Center.

If you can not catch us in person in Austin, TX, you can watch and support us by watching our 24 hour broadcast at twitch.tv/gamingdayorg

Are you ready to help?

Last year, Extra Life raised more than 7 million dollars to save kids, but in 2016 our goals, just like the needs of the kids we serve, are much, much higher.

We can’t do this without your help. On November 5th starting at 9am, please join us at the Microsoft Store in The Domain:

3309 Esperanza Crossing, Austin, TX 78758

We will be hosting a 24 hour event onsite all the way to 9am Sunday. Please join us for games, panels, music and raffles for prizes. All of this in benefit for Extra Life. You can also watch up on our live stream at http://www.twitch.tv/gamingdayorg

Thank you so much for your past and continued to support. We hope to see you all soon.
